Among the distinctions and numerous awards that he has recently received, he highlights the gold medal for excellence in health, institutional modality awarded by the CIS, to the Alberto Lajo Foundation, which he personally received as founder and president of said foundation. Dr. Lajo obtains the highest score in the opposition phase, obtaining the first place with significant distance from the second and third opponents, opting for the place convened in his hometown, Valladolid, temporarily occupied by another doctor until the convening of the national opposition In the merit contest phase, none of the 20 courses taken are recognized, nor are you senior as a doctor of the emergency department of the University Clinical Hospital, granting the place in property to the third position in the opposition, which coincidentally was the interim doctor of said place, to which all the merits are recognized until achieving just one tenth of a point, which he grants him ahead of the first opposition position, said place. He also collaborates in a research project regarding Burnout syndrome in the burn unit of the health city, whose results are subsequently published in scientific literature. During the assistance activity, the emergency care activity in the 24-hour guards stands out, which includes not only the control and assistance to the emergency plant, but also the burn intensive care unit, integrated into the hospital's plastic surgery service peace. 
Arriving in their care activity, 352 hours per month, including weekends that included up to 11 guards of 24 hours per month without freedom from the next day, and 8 hours daily intensive workday, which meant an average of 500-600 patients attended per month. 
The casuistry received, mainly is reconstructive hand surgery and peripheral nerve repair surgery, at the upper limb level; burn surgery; surgery of soft tissue and bone tumors of the hand; Integral surgery of the hand, osteoarticular, vascular lesions and traumatic hand, among others. 
Including teaching activity, participating in weekly presentations of the main areas of the specialty both at the intra departmental level and at external conferences. 
Care activity is carried out in intensive care of critically ill patients, with the diagnostic evaluation of large burns, with control of the ICU of attached burns, attached to the Department of plastic surgery, in the guards, together with the activity of the hospital plant of emergencies, including the cardiorespiratory resuscitation of the large burn as well as the general pathology of the admitted patients, with the collaboration of other departments and services of the health city. 
At the ICU level of burns, the control and treatment of the patient with intermediate burns and the large burn with intensive care and intermediate care is performed, as well as the surgical activity of the burn, which includes coverage with skin grafts, as well as they begin procedures for transplanting cadaver skin, creating the skin bank. 
At the level of reconstructive surgery of the upper limb, extensive casuistry is performed, with casuistry in microvascularized free flap, antibrachial flap, tricipital flap, flexor carpi ulnaris flap, brachioradial flap, digiti minimus abductor flap, polyvis brevis abductor flap, interosseous dorsal flap. 
Collaboration is also carried out with the digestive system surgery services, participating in the usual oncological surgery.

In 1996 he presented himself to the elections of the Sanitary City of La Paz, carrying out a campaign with the objective of obtaining the commission and teaching voice of said hospital. During the period of ownership in said vocal, he carries out an intense work in favor of research and teaching in the services that have teaching accreditation by the Ministry of Health, for MIR training. This activity involved campaigns for the improvement in research, as well as criteria for teacher accreditation, being achieved after numerous interviews in the Ministry of Health, with the Ministry of Health Training, changes that were a precedent in the history of the MIR training of the Spanish state . Within the activity as a vocal doctor of the teaching commission of the health city, he carried out activity in various services and university departments of the hospital, in order to improve the teaching quality in the MIR system, in other specialties.

Between 1998 and 1999, he joined the San Joan de Deu Children's Hospital in commission of services, performing reconstructive surgery for children and 24-hour guards assistance activity, within the specialty. Auricular reconstructive surgery for microtias and anotias and childhood tumors, mainly angiomas and sarcomas, are performed. 
Repairs of congenital thoracoabdominal malformations and surgical treatment of the cleft alveolo-palatine lip are performed. Participates in bone distraction surgeries, with maxillofacial bone advancement system in malformative syndromes, Crouzom Syndromes, in collaboration with the children's orthognathic plastic surgery unit of said hospital. 
Between 1997-2000 he participated in surgery and laser treatments, in the laser platform of the Durant and Reynals Cancer Hospital, participating weekly in CO2 laser surgery, as well as treatment of vascular malformations with Yag neodymium laser. 
In 1999, he made critical reports before the teaching and deputy director of the Spanish Ministry of Health, to improve the teaching quality, presenting a claim regarding the asymmetric distribution of a specific case, of maximum care interest, given that it is preferentially and repeatedly referred to autochthonous members of the regional region, members of the Catalan plastic surgery service, also reporting the possibility of discrimination, in patent deviation of power in the management of the distribution of casuistry arrivante to the service of plastic surgery of the Catalan Hospital, informing likewise and in parallel to the undersecretary of training of the Spanish Ministry of Health.

In 2000, rotation was established in the Plastic Surgery Service of Dr. Madeleine Lejour, author of the Lejour technique, universally accepted as an excellent technique in breast surgery, such professional activity. Dr. Lajo performs it in free rotation, without an employment contract, because he is in suspension of activity, pending judicial pronunciation, in relation to the claim of distribution of casuistry and deviation of power in the Catalan Hospital. 
At the Brugman Hospital in Brussels (Belgium) he collaborates as an external visitor, participating in the interventions of mastopexy and breast reduction techniques mainly with Lejour technique. Lejour's vertical mammoplasty technique becomes the most popular used in plastic surgery services, in subsequent years. 
He also performs surgical activity in cosmetic surgery procedures at the Our Lady of La Basilica private Clinical Center, in Brussels, collaborating with the Austrian doctor Helga Eder, developing and perfecting techniques for facial lifting, open and closed rhinoplasty, panfacial lifting, breast lift, otoplasty , cheiloplasty, tummy tucks and liposuctions. 
During the first semester of the year 2000, external rotation is performed in the service of Dr. Ortiz Monasterio, in Mexico City, developing techniques of facial bone architecture, orthognathic surgery and rhinoplasty. 
In the same year there are 5 judicial pronouncements in Spain, firmly estimating the claims made by Dr. Lajo, in the sense of deviation of power, and discriminatory distribution of the casuistry arrivante to the service of plastic surgery of the Hospital de Bellvitge. These pronouncements had broad repercussions in the conventional media, press and television, leading to the creation of effective supervisory bodies, in proportionate compliance with the distribution of cases, among the MIR members of a service or department. 
In the second half of 2000, he joined the service of plastic and cosmetic surgery of the University Clinic of Navarra, (Pamplona), with an employment contract, official rotation. He concludes his employment contract and training with excellent evaluation, passing in his fifth year of contract for a brief period in the burn unit of the Hospital La Paz, after recovering this plastic surgery service, the teaching accreditation, in the city Sanitaria, La Paz (Madrid). 
Between the end of the year 2000 and 2001, he carried out assistance activity with an employment contract, at the General Yagüe Hospital (INSALUD) (National Reference Center in Reimplants) in the city of Burgos, as well as the assistance activity at the Hospital, Divino Valles de Burgos (activity with labor contract both), work hours of 8 hours and 24-hour guards are established weekly.

It participates in the usual surgery, in the breast reconstruction unit, with frequent casuistry, in TRAM flap and latisimus dorsis, as well as in tissue expansion technique and repair with anatomical prostheses, among others. In the service of being a National Reference in Reimplant Surgery, he frequently participates in guard seals, in the practice of performing reimplant techniques of limbs and various amputated anatomical areas. 
He also began a work of rotation on facial transplantation techniques on corpses and continues the professional activity (with an employment contract) carried out at the Mercy Hospital (in the Mexican branch of the United States) and at the Las Américas Medical Center, in Mérida, Mexico at the end of the year 2001. 
In October 2001, after working at the Medical Center of the Americas and Mercy Hospital, he was awarded a ceremonial gala, a diploma certifying the excellent professional collaboration that Dr. Lajo Rivera has maintained during his stay in Hospital. Indicating his affable character, his humanism and high professional level while passing through our center is unforgettable. His immense work capacity led him to carry out an intense teaching and scientific activity, experiencing new dissection techniques on corpses, giving courses and numerous conferences in universities, professional colleges, hospitals.

In collaboration with the forensic institute of Yucatán (Mexico), and given the most permissive legal regulations, research is carried out daily on corpses in muscle transplants, for breast reconstruction after mastectomy, as well as osteomyocutaneous face transplantation for facial reconstruction. As mentioned earlier, in 2001 he voluntarily rotated (without an employment contract) in the Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery Service of the Brugman Hospital in Brussels (Belgium), as well as in the Our Lady of La Basilica Private Clinical Center (Brussels). In the Brugman center he joined the service that was led by Dr. Madeleine Lejour, creator of one of the most famous breast surgery techniques, Lejour technique, worldwide disseminated for mastopexy or breast lift techniques. After a new visit to these centers in 2002, he joined the San Luis hospital in Paris, where he made a voluntary rotation. Both rotations in Brussels and Paris are approved by the centers, although this activity is carried out as a visiting physician, that is, without an employment contract, being exempt from responsibilities, as well as without performing hospital guards, participating only as an assistant or second surgeon. 
After these years he joined again, in a short rotation (this time without an employment contract), in the Barnes hospital San Luis, Missouri (USA), collaborating as a second surgeon (assistants), in various procedures of cosmetic repair surgery, both in hospitals dependents of the Washington University as in Jewish St. Louis hospital, and in the public hospital of San Luis, of said city, next to this activity private activity is carried out mainly in orthognathic surgery and facial surgery. In the same year they began a creation of an endoscopic plastic surgery unit, carrying out various treatments on both face and body. He also collaborates in various procedures of endoscopic plastic surgery, in hand surgery, such as treatment of medial nerve lesions, and carpal tunnel syndromes. The practice and experience of these novel techniques of endoscopic plastic surgery, allow you to later, in the private activity in Spain, such procedures, to date very unusual. 
During the North American stay and the subsequent one at Mercy Hospital, he made several charitable collaborations with NGOs, for cleft lip treatment (cleft) campaigns in children living in endemic areas of southern Mexico. He also collaborates with the San Vicente de Paul paraplegics reception center, carrying out various reparative procedures for bedsores, an activity that has an important impact on the local media of written and radio press, receiving mention of his dedication and work, in certification granted by said center. 
In 2001, he joined the Santa Casa de la Misericordia, Pitanguy Clinic and Fluminense Clinic in external rotation in Brazil, working with doctors Liasyr Riveiro and Ronaldo Pontes at Fluminense Clinic, as well as with Dr. Ivo Pitanguy at Santa Casa Hospital de la Misericordia and at the Ivo Pitanguy Clinic, every six months. During this stay in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), he presented three papers at the International Congress of the Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery. Septorinoplasty, nasal tip surgery is performed daily, using Golfman, Ponti, Pellegrini techniques, among others, rhino sculpture treatments are also performed, and cases of secondary rhinoplasty are treated. Facial filing, fatty grafting techniques are performed, and deep compound liftings, superiostic liftings are performed along the deep fascia, aesthetic blepharoplasty and transconjunctival route, as well as combined techniques. It also collaborates in the realization of peels with trichloroacetic acid and glycolic acid. Baldness restorative surgeries are performed using capillary microtransplants, flap techniques, and reductive alopecia techniques. Likewise, different techniques of reductive mammoplasty are performed with both a horizontal scar, an anchor scar, a reductive t and a vertical scar, as well as mammoplasties with only periaerolar scar or scar only in L or J. Augmentative mammoplasty procedures are performed using prostheses by transendoscopic transumbilical route, as well as axillary route, periareolar, axillary, and endoscopic mastopexy reduction techniques are also performed. Different mastopexy techniques are performed with and without prosthetic inclusion. In the second half of 2001, he joined the Mercy Hospital (Miami USA) with a labor contract, mainly performing all types of cosmetic surgery procedures. During his stay he collaborates weekly in the realization of the interhospital clinical sessions, in which the latest advances in plastic and reconstructive surgery techniques are exchanged between all American hospitals. It performs external rotation to the Mercy hospital in Mexico, and from this, once again, begins humanitarian relief campaigns for the treatment of cleft lip and palate, cleft lip palatal, endemic pathology of certain regions of Mexico. Subsequently, he joined the Monte Sinai Hospital - New York, USA, - said rotation being interrupted a few days after the terrorist attack on the twin towers of that city, later moving for three more months to the Las Americas Medical Center Hospital in Yucatan Mérida (Mexico), where he performs daily facial and body cosmetic surgery, collaborates again in the improvement, (in his collaboration previously initiated for experimental construction) of instruments for capillary micrograft techniques for the treatment of alopecia (baldness). During the same period he works as a professor of the faculty of dentistry at the University of Yucatán teaching classes on the different chapters of orthognathic surgery and maxillofacial surgery. During this stay he participates as a professor in the international course of maxillofacial surgery, taught at the University of Yucatán, whose organization is directed by Dr. Lajo as well as by professors from the University of Havana (Cuba) doctors Norberto Medina, Anselmo López and Mexican Antonio Pérez, giving twelve lectures, receiving a diploma and plaque, which states that it has been an honor to have had the valuable participation of Dr. Luis Alberto Lajo Rivera, giving the lectures:

Later he participates as a guest professor in the international course of facial and maxillofacial surgery held in Havana Cuba in which he gives 3 lectures in relation to oculoplastic surgery, orbital bone surgery, and blepharoplasty, for which he receives a diploma for his brilliant participation as Professor of International Magno-Maxillofacial Surgery Course awarded by the Faculty of Dentistry of the University of Yucatán, by the Association of Maxillofacial Surgeons and by the Ministry of Public Health of the Republic of Cuba. 
He also collaborates as a professor at the University of Havana teaching in the international course of microsurgery and dissection on cadaver. At the same time, he participates as an observer in the burn unit of the Hermanos Almejeiras Cuban Hospital, a pioneer in skin cover techniques in burns in Central America. In the same year he participates with the inaugural conference at the International Congress of Breast Surgery, held in Mérida Mexico, exposing reconstruction techniques using a TRAM flap. Subsequently, in collaboration with the medical institute of Mérida, he continues his experimental research work on cadavers, investing 200 hours in cadaveric dissection and complex face transplantation on cadavers, dissections and breast reconstruction techniques are also performed. The results of these works carried out on the body with the permission and collaboration of the director of the institute of forensic medicine of the city of Mérida, are published and disseminated in different media, being again Dr. Lajo in 2002 invited to participate in different conferences and congresses in various countries of North, Central and South America. 
In 2002, he is awarded and accredited by diploma the title of member of the Spanish Society of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery (SECPRE) attending to the merits acquired in the exercise of science and art of this specialty. 
In 2003, several research papers are published in the scientific journal as the first or main author, with the director of the forensic anatomical institute of Mérida (Mexico) and the director of the department of plastic surgery in Mérida (Mexico) collaborating. During his stay in Mexico he continues to collaborate in the design of a surgical instrument, for transplantation procedures and grafting of hair follicles (hair transplantation). Between 2003 and 2005 he founded the INTERPLASTIC CENTERS center that brings together offices in the Spanish cities of Madrid, Barcelona, ​​Palencia, Valladolid, Santander and Segovia, attending both casuistic aesthetic and restorative plastic surgery, as well as medical judicial expertise in the areas of civil law , criminal and labor. Since that date he is an official medical expert of the Illustrious College of Physicians of Madrid.

From 1995 to 2014 we have carried out numerous humanitarian and health activities in countries where many people do not have health coverage or good hygienic conditions. We have been in almost 20 countries, some of which are Vietnam, India, Moldova, Peru, Bolivia, among others, where medication has been delivered, operations, treatments and cures have been carried out and also collaborated in creating sanitary infrastructures. 
 But the foundation continues and we will continue to work in areas where we have been before and in new countries that require help. 
In 2013, recovering the experience acquired in the laboratory, during the realization of the University specialty of Toxicology began the creation of the cosmetic line AL, which had 2 years of refinement, leaving the prototype at the end of 2014 with the patented name of “Foundation Alberto Lajo “whose benefits are donated to the foundation, and the final product in 2015; these products consisting of: nourishing cream whose function is to regenerate and renew the skin. This type of creams provide lipids to the skin, which different types of fat that act as an energy reserve and that allows the cellular regeneration of the dermis, something essential to prevent aging and wrinkle formation. Parallel to the creation of the book, he edits and directs the first issue of the Alberto Lajo Magazine, aesthetics and beauty, with an online version that is available on the website and in paper support, which can be purchased at the clinics, where social content is addressed , cultural, medicine and especially on cosmetic, plastic and restorative surgery as well as beauty and aesthetic and fashion trends. The benefits of such publication are donated to the Foundation. 
In 2013 the collaboration with the clinical center in Paris begins and in 2014 the professional office is inaugurated, located in the Rond-Point des Champs-Elysées 12/14 Paris - France, current headquarters of the Alberto Lajo Foundation, as well as office professional where casuistry is treated in relation to plastic and reconstructive cosmetic surgery, also is the headquarters of the brand of the line of cosmetic products created by Dr. Lajo. 
In 2014, the Europa forum awarded its gold medal to the illustrious plastic surgeon Dr. Lajo Rivera for his long professional career. For Dr. Lajo it was a great honor to share a prize and evening with prominent figures from other professional fields. This award is a stimulus to maintain a way of working, always thinking of overcoming and giving the patient the best of our knowledge and skills.

He has a higher degree in family sciences, a master's degree in family counseling and guidance, from the Pontifical University of Salamanca. 
 
 
 
He is a specialist in expert medicine from the Complutense University and belongs to the body of judicial medical experts, of the Illustrious College of Physicians of Madrid. Between 1990 and 1994 he carried out a research study of disabilities in the Spanish state, being one of the deepest studies conducted in Spain. 
 
 
 
He has received awards, national and international among which he highlights: In 1990 he obtained the number one in the opposition phase of general practitioners of the Spanish state (to which 7,000 opponents attended). 
 
 
 
In the opposition MIR 1994, of the Spanish State by the Ministry of Health, Education and Culture obtains the first position in the Community of Madrid, INSALUD. Specialty in plastic, cosmetic and restorative surgery (which was attended by about 30,000 opponents). 
 
 
 
In 1995 he was elected doctor of the year, based on his research and teaching work at La Paz Hospital and was named honorary resident of La Paz Hospital. In the same year he presented himself to the elections of the Sanitary City of La Paz, carrying out a campaign with the objective of obtaining the teaching commission of said hospital and was elected by a majority.

Between 1999-2004, it is worth mentioning the numerous professional awards for the conferences given in numerous countries of the American continent. exposing research results, in facial transplant surgery, performed experimentally on cadaver, at the Medical Forensic Institute of Mérida (Mexico) 
 
 
 
In 2000, he was awarded the honorary membership of the Scientific Society of Maxillofacial Surgery, for his collaboration in the Department of the University in Yucatan (Mexico), where he taught twelve courses of oncological surgery and craniofacial reconstruction. 
 
 
 
In 2001 he also received the distinction, in recognition of his volunteering, at the paraplegics center of the order of St. Vincent de Paul in Merida (Mexico)

He has activity in offices in the Spanish cities of Madrid, Valladolid, and Segovia, attending both casuistry of aesthetic and restorative plastic surgery, as well as medical judicial expertise in the areas of civil, criminal and labor law. 
 
 
 
 
In 2014, the Europe Forum awarded its Gold Medal, and in 2015 it received the medical excellence award in distinction to its professional career, awarded by the International Health Confederation - CIS Health, Confederation composed of a dozen countries. 
 
 
 
 
Among other awards, the gold medal for excellence in health, institutional modality awarded by the CIS, to the Alberto Lajo Foundation, which he personally received as founder and president of said foundation, stands out. The foundation is an institution whose objective is to help those people in health, where catastrophes or epidemics have occurred. The foundation of Doctor Lajo has been awarded by the International Confederation of Health, an award he shared with the San Juan de Dios Hospital Order and with the Women's Heart Center "Heart of Jesus". Its foundation has developed grants in various parts of the five Continents. 
 
 
 
As a result of his experience as a toxicologist, in 2013 he created the first prototype of what his cosmetic line would be and during 2014 he presented a new edition of his cosmetic line "Alberto Lajo" in various countries. 
 
 
 
He is also the author of numerous publications, editor and writer. Having written several books on medicine, plastic and aesthetic surgery and reissued his latest book, "The Art of Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery".
